Symptoms

Trying to migrate a VE from local storage to network storage (cluster), the following error is shown:

Failed to reconfigure the server 'example'. Cannot find a suitable virtualization node to host the resized server.

The amount of free space on local disks on all servers in cluster is very small, lower than the moved VE disk size.

Cause

The behavior is considered a software issue with internal ID CCU-15074: wrong calculation of needed disk space upon change from local to network disk

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Services > Cloud Infrastructure > Virtualization Nodes > [any of nodes in cluster] > Cloud and mark it as Not ready to provide.
  2. Click Configure hardware, edit Disk Space so that it is bigger than Disk Space size assigned to the migrated VE (Services > Cloud Infrastructure > Virtual Servers > [VE]), and apply the changes.
  3. Mark the node as Ready to provide and change the storage type again.
