Symptoms
- Odin Service Automation has been upgraded from 6.0 to 7.0.
- During the upgrade, there were failed tasks installing BIND package to DNS service nodes that were resolved and completed successfully.
As a result, for some DNS server, the DNS records are not getting created at proper location, and name resolution does not work for it. E.g. for NS1 the zone files are updated at
/var/named/example.com., but for NS2 the same zone is updated at/var/named/run-root/var/example.com., but named root directory is configured as/var/named/.[root@ns1 ~]# grep ^ROOTDIR /etc/sysconfig/named ROOTDIR="/var/named"
Cause
The issue is recognized as POA-110035: Component properties of old package version should be removed upon component upgrade.
