Symptoms
A domain with umlaut in its name, e.g. exmple.com, was propagated to Plesk.
Pressing "Add to Plesk" reports success.
An attempt to desynchronize it returns success as well, but no changes can be seen in CCP.
Inside the VE, in /usr/local/aps/<aps_uuid>/var/log/pvps-dns.log, the following error can be found on DNS sync operation:
[Jan,11 07:48:57][NBD_1484120932][ERR][DNS ADD]: Internal Server Error: Unable to retrieve the session ID from Plesk response.
Cause
The issue is recognized under internal ID CCU-14185..
