Symptoms

When changing NG Director to a newly created node, a message appears in Infrastructure > Service Nodes > Web Clusters > NGWebCluster01:

Switching Director Director cannot be switched to a new web server completely due to failed or unprocesses tasks. The process will be completed if you resolve the problematic tasks in the Task Manager. Or switch Director once again to another web server clicking the appropriate Set Director link. The tasks will be automatically deleted allowing Director to switch.

In the Task Manager, a failed task "Make web server XXXXX director of web cluster XXXXX" can be found with the following last execution output:

DBService invocation error: IJ000459: Transaction is not active: tx=TransactionImple < ac, BasicAction: 0:ffffc0a8850c:-481ee1f:578c22fd:15f883aa status: ActionStatus.ABORTED >

The Director cannot be changed.

Cause

The task fails because of the software related issue known as #POA-106442 "PAU timeout during setting new NG Cluster Director".

Resolution

Contact your Technical Account Manager or Pooled Technical Associate Team in order to find out the current status of #POA-106442.

As a workaround, temporarily change PAU transaction timeout to 900 on the Management Node. Then rerun the task. Finally, revert the changes in the configuration file.
