Question

How to update mailbox size limit for new and existing mailboxes?

Resolution

  1. Go to Top > Service Director > Hosted Exchange Manager > Mailbox Templates.

  2. Click on the name of the template to be edited.

  3. Depending on the parameters you want to edit, click on the Edit link in the respective area. For example, to edit the mailbox access parameters, click on the Edit link in the Mailbox access area

4.Set new parameters in the editable fields. Note that most Size limits are editable by customers, but only within the values set for the Mailbox Template.

The Size limits are as follows and can be edited by customers in the following way:

Default mailbox size - The maximum storage size set for customer's mailbox by default (editable by customers within the Maximum allowed mailbox size limit). In CCP, the value set here corresponds to the Size limit parameter.

Note: If the newly applied Default mailbox size is greater than the Size limit set for an existing mailbox, the mailbox Size limit will be increased according to the new Default mailbox size. If the new Default mailbox size is smaller than the Size limit, a Customer may use up to the Maximum allowed mailbox size limit, though an overusage will be shown.

Maximum allowed mailbox size - The maximum storage size set for customer's mailbox in reality (not editable by customers). After this limit is reached, the mailbox is blocked.

Maximum incoming item size - The maximum size of incoming message allowed (editable by customers within the limit set here).

Maximum outgoing item size - The maximum size of outgoing message allowed (editable by customers within the limit set here).

Maximum number of recipients - The maximum number of recipients the mailbox owner can send a message to (editable by customers within the limit set here).

Keep deleted items for - The period during which deleted messages are kept (editable by customers within the limit set here).

5.Click Submit to save changes.

6.If you wish to apply the new settings to already existing mailboxes based on the current Mailbox Template, click the Apply Changes to Mailboxes button at the bottom of the screen. If you do not click the Apply Changes to Mailboxes button, the new settings are applied to new mailboxes only.

Note: If the newly applied Maximum allowed mailbox size limit is smaller than the Size limit set for an existing customer mailbox (in CCP), the Size limit is corrected against the Maximum allowed mailbox size value (for example, if Size limit was 40 MB, and the new Maximum allowed mailbox size value is 30 MB, the Size limit is set to 30 MB). If the newly applied Maximum allowed mailbox size limit is greater than the Size limit set for existing customer mailbox, the Size limit for the mailbox remains unchanged.
