Symptoms

A migration of CentOS-4-based DNS server to the CentOS-6-based server is being performed. Hardware node re-registration fails with the error:

There is no suitable package Apache for host #12.

What is the reason of the error?

Cause

Apache package is installed on this hardware node.

Resolution

There is no version of Apache package for CentOS 6 (only for older versions) because in POA 5.5 Apache legacy hosting is supposed to be migrated to NG hosting. There is a note about that at the page 17 of Services Upgrade and Migration Guide :

Important! This procedure is not applicable for migrating customer's websites or brands. Please refer to the respective sections for this purpose: Migrating Websites from Legacy Linux Shared Hosting (on page 37), Migrating Brands to Linux Shared Hosting NG (on page 43).

If Apache services are not used on this server, the re-registration can be fixed in the following way:

  1. Go to Packages tab in POA PP for this host, and delete Apache package. Make sure that it disappears from the list
  2. Cancel the tasks generated during the package removal
  3. Repeat the re-registration attempt
