Question

There are domains with expiration date in PBA different from the actual expiration date in the registrar. I would like to synchronize the dates in PBA and in the registar, any way to perform this automatically?

Since PBA-E 5.4.15 there is a new feature "Synchronization of domain expiration dates". What is this feature about?

Answer

In some cases, the domain expiration date stored at PBA-E side may differ from the actual expiration date stored at Registrar side. Such situation may cause problems with domains renewal. To avoid this, enable the automated synchronization of domains expiration date with Registrar and configure the periodic check. The feature is configured in Home > System > Settings > Services > Domains > Synchronization tab for PBA-E 5.5 and Home > External Systems Director > Domain Manager > Synchronization Settings of Expiration Dates for PBA-E 5.4 with following parameters:

Enabled: The field shows whether the periodic check of domains expiration date is enabled:

  • Yes. Enabled
  • No. Disabled

To enable or disable checking, click Edit in the View mode.

Number of domains to process at a time: The field shows how many domains are checked in one run.

Auto-correction interval (days): The field shows the difference in days between expiration date stored in PBA and at Registrar, that defines, whether the expiration date in PBA is corrected or not:

  • If the difference in days is equal or shorter than the auto-correction interval, then the expiration date in PBA is fixed according to the date stored at Registrar side.
  • If the difference exceeds the auto-correction interval, then the expiration interval in PBA is not changed.

Number of days between checks for a single domain: How often the expiration date is checked per domain.

By default the task for domain expiration date synchronization is run once a day, if required you can modify the value of Execution Interval to the required value (in seconds) in Home > System > Settings > Events > Scheduler > Synchronize Domain Expiration Dates for PBA-E 5.5 or Home > Configuration Director > Event Manager Settings > Synchronize Domain Expiration Dates for PBA-E 5.4.

Note: by default the synchronization is disabled, to use the feature, please specify the necessary settings and enable it.
