Symptoms

Order provisioning failed, the following error message is displayed in the corresponding subscription on the Service Status History: Only alphabetic characters and digits are allowed to used in Code Backtrace

The same problem may appear when placing order for a customer account in PBA Provider Control Panel.

Cause

Case 1:

The account in question has locale containing non-ASCII symbols in the Locale ID field like in the example below:

The problem may appear if account with invalid locale ID was created using PBA API or Provider created such locale manually in PBA PCP at Configuration Director > Miscellaneous Settings > Languages:

Case 2:

A SKU in order has a description which contains non-ASCII characters.

Resolution

Case 1:

  1. Change language for the affected customer account to the one with only ASCII characters in the Locale ID, this may be done in the account properties in PBA Provider Control Panel.

  2. Resubmit the failed order for provisioning (or try to place order once again).

  3. If you are sure that there is no customer accounts with the invalid locale then remove the broken locale to prevent such problems in the future.

Case 2:

Check the list of SKUs in System.
