Cause
Microsoft Exchange 2007 SP1 does not allow to create public folders with size more than 2GB. This limitation was fixed in the Exchange 2007 SP2 by Microsoft.
Resolution
Upgrade Exchange to 2007 SP2. It is recommended to install Exchange 2007 SP1/SP2/SP3 on multiple Exchange 2007 servers in the following order:
- Client Access Servers
- Hub Transport Servers
- Edge Transport Servers
- Standalone Mailbox Servers
- Clustered Mailbox Servers
- Unified Messaging Servers
- Servers with only Management Tools installed (e.g. MPS Server)
To solve the problem before updating Exchange to 2007 SP2, you may set the parameter Maximum Allowed Public Folder Size to the value less than 2GB is Service Template.
