How can I disable the creation of core files in Linux?

In order to disable core files generation across the whole machine in operating system level, You can use machine's /etc/profile file.

The file is specifies a core file size limit.

It should be set to "0" and redirected to /dev/null.

You should have a line similar to the followin in the file:

# No core files by default

ulimit -S -c 0 > /dev/null 2>&1
