Dear Sphera customer,

This message includes additional information regarding the PHP security release for RHEL ES/AS2.1 sent on April 14, 2005.

Note that Installing SD3.7.3 is a prerequisite for this Patch.

The solution requires two steps:
a. Downloading the PHP RPMs to the machine. 
b. Installing the PHP patch using the RPM tool.

Before using the RPM tool, carefully read the instructions below as well as the 'RPM tool user guide' which is located in the Sphera Download manager: under the ServerDirector V3.7 documents section.


Verify that the tool configuration file exists in: /etc/sphera.repository/conf/sd_rpm_manager.conf and includes the correct parameters as described in the guide. If not, create it and add the properties required according to the RPM tool user guide.

Edit the RPM tool configuration file as follows: spec_url=
rpm_url= <RPM Directory> directory where you store the RPM’s

The following RPMs are needed by the RPM tool. Download and place the RPMs in a <RPM directory> on the machine. The directory should be the same as you used in the RPM tool configuration file in the section above.


The RPMs are located in the Sphera Download manager ( under the ServerDirector V3.7 RPMs directory. 
Note: Do not install the RPMs, the RPM tool will perform all required operations

Installing PHP-4.3.11 package using the RPM tool:

To view the list of possible upgrades run: <ServerDirector base>/bin/sd_rpm_manager -l.
The following RPM should be displayed:

The installation of these RPMs requires that ServerDirector is stopped:
Execute sphadmin and select option 11 from the menu. 

To install these RPMs run:

<ServerDirector base>/bin/sd_rpm_manager -u <packages name as listed at the -l option>

Start ServerDirector:
Execute sphadmin and select option 10 from the menu.
