How log rotation is configured in a VDS

Log rotation is cronjob scheduled task.

Running "crontab -l -u " command as root, will show the scheduled task for a certain VDS.

VDS owner can read it by "cat /var/spool/cron/".

VDS owner can change the schedule by changing the cronjob:

1. edit /var/spool/cron/ file

2. run "crontab" from vds terminal.

That would update the machines cron (Use no switches for This. its a sphera command, Its not the usual crontab command).

logrotate utility can be used for rotating also other logs if needed.

VDS owner can also change the log rotation configuration by editing VDS/etc/logrotate.conf file.

Use "man logrotate" for details about configuration options.
