How to Restore a VDS that was corrupted by Front Page?

The Front Page is a tool for Site building. If the FP was installed at server Level, it will be available for the VDS owners as a ValueApp.

If a site owner used FTP to connect to his site in an incorrect way (meaning with ftp and not with http; user did the following: File - Open Web and entered a URL that contains ftp:// prefix instead of http:// prefix) he will arrive to the VDS Root directory instead to www folder.

If the VDS Owner will publish his site, he might affect the VDS structure (delete required directories). In this case, use a comparable VDS to restore the Files and Directories.

For the manager directory It is not enough to copy from other VDS and change ownership, you will need to open and edit the files redirect.asp and default.asp pages. Look at the code for reference of the domain and VDS name and change to the correct parameters. If the webalizer is installed for this VDS (look at the Site GUI); you will need to reinstall it. If the \logs directory was deleted create it.

*3.6 UP2, 3.65 and on will fix this behavior by using NTFS permissions that will not allow deletion of the important directories required for VDS basic operations.
