When adding a server to Helm it fails with an error, and when I look at the Helm error logs I see this:
2006-04-05 07:11:52 HELM:CServer::AddServerEx A SYSTEM Error Occured: 000000000070: Permission denied{0}
However, in Helm the server is actually added even though it errored, and when I try to delete it, I can't.
This suggests that Helm is having issues getting to your hosts file. This is a Windows file that specifies the name and IPs of all servers that your control server can communicate to. When adding a server to Helm, Helm attempts to write the name and IP of the server into the hosts file. If it cannot do that, it will give the error seen above in the logs.
The hosts file is located here:
In most cases the cause is usually because the hosts file is set to Read-Only. Right-click this file and choose Properties and then uncheck the Read-Only box and click OK.
This should fix the issue, and you should now be able to add a server. If you still have issues, contact your support provider.
