When creating a MySQL database in Helm, it fails and I get the following error in the logs:
2005-01-13 11:13:35 Provider Catastrophic failure
2005-01-13 11:13:35 CDatabase.CreateDatabaseEx Catastrophic failure
This is a problem with the MySQL driver - see the following link for more details:
1.) Firstly, you will need to uninstall the version of the driver that you have already from your server. To do this, you will need to double click the original driver's MSI or EXE install file and then choose the Remove or Uninstall option. If you no longer have this driver install file, then you can get it from here:
Download the file, and open it - it will give you the option to uninstall the driver.
2.) Once uninstalled, check in Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC) and go to the Drivers tab. There should be no file entitled "MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver".
3.) Now you need to reboot your machine. This is unfortunate if it is a busy webserver, but cannot be helped as only a reboot will remove the driver from the cache.
4.) Now you need to install the working driver. There is a correctly working version of the driver, which you will need to download and install from here:
5.) Once installed, the problem will be fixed - you should not need to reboot after installing the correct driver.
