When trying to enable FP Extensions in Helm, the following error is generated in the logs:

2003-07-28 20:16:10 Website.IWeb_InstallFP Unknown error while installing FrontPage: The FP extension failed to install. FP Extensions responded: (-666) Record for role 'Advanced author' not found in Roles configuration.

First, make sure you have installed Frontpage 2002. This can be found here:
Has the advanced author role been removed from the default installation? This role is always created when FP is first installed.

Go into the Frontpage web interface and look under the frontpage site that was added. Click on "Manage Roles" and check to see which roles are in there. There should be the following:

Administrator View, add, and change all server content; manage server settings and accounts.

Advanced author View, add, and change pages, documents, themes, and borders; recalculate hyperlinks.

Author View, add, and change pages and documents.

Contributor View pages and documents, view and contribute to discussions.

Browser View pages and documents.
If the above doesn't work, you can also try removing the extensions, and then re-applying them using the FrontPage administrator tool. The tool is web based and can be found at:
Replace SERVERNAME with the name of your server and PORT with the port that Microsoft Sharepoint Administration is running on in IIS.
Uninstall the FrontPage Server Extensions on the domain name, do an IISRESET (open up a command prompt and type iisreset then press "Enter"), and then reinstall the FrontPage Server Extensions.
