Symptoms

Bulk import of mailboxes, contacts or distribution lists in POA Customer Control Panel fails with HTTP error:

Error: Connection was reset.

or POA UI error:

Session expired: Your session has expired due to inactivity. Please re-login. Thank you.

Cause

Importing entities from CSV file with many records may take a lot of time. This time can exceed the default timeouts of POA or HTTP session.  

Resolution

1. You can increase expiration timeout of POA session. It is specified for each staff member in Provider CP at Operations Director > Customer Manager > Customers > click on account > Staff members tab > click on user > Session Timeout.

2. You can increase expiration timeout of HTTP session. It is specifed for each brand as the TIMEOUT parameter (in seconds) in the configuration file /usr/local/pem/etc/apache/httpd.conf_pem on POA Branding server.

Additional information

The default values of timeouts and limits:

  • POA session timeout - 30 minutes;

  • HTTP session timeout - 5 minutes;
