Symptoms
Not possible to register Virtuozzo node from PCP -> Cloud Infrastructure -> Virtualization/Backup nodes, the corresponding Execute operation 'register_backup_node_task' fails with the following error:
[CI] Can't install PPM paci_sn_psbm.
Cloud Infrastructure Disable Hardware Management in Service Controller option in System > Settings > System Properties is disabled.
Cause
Starting from 18.0, Cloud Infrastructure is fully decoupled from the platform and in combination with OA 8.0 the enabling of APS-based hardware node management is not optional but required, otherwise issues and inconsistencies during hosts management can occure.
The observed behavior is recognized as documentation bug CCU-19980.
Resolution
Please contact your TAM or PTA to check the status of the request or discuss the workaround.
Please enable the Cloud Infrastructure Disable Hardware Management in Service Controller option in System > Settings > System Properties, so management of hardware nodes will become possible via Cloud Infrastructure menu. Note, that restart of OA services on OA MN is required for changes applying:
