Provider configured parameters of OACI backup schedule weekly in PCP > Services > Cloud Infrastructure > Backup Schedules:

Customer assigned schedule weekly to a virtual machine.

Expected result: up to 25 backups are created for the VM (accordingly to the schedule)

Actual result: another number of backups is created (disregarding schedule)

Parameters of backup schedule weekly (i.e., number of backups to keep) are different in Instance Manager database. It can be a result of bug CCU-17561.

Exact prerequisites:

  1. Two implementations of OACI-module are in use in provider's OA instalation:

    • APS-based implementation (APS-package Cloud Infrastructure)
    • Service controller-based implementation of OACI
  2. OACI resource type of class CI backups used has different parameters of backup schedule weekly:

In this case schedules of two OACI-implementations can overwrite each other in Instance Manager Database.

Note: This issue happens only if schedules names are equal. Default schedules daily, weekly, monthly can be affected.

Contact your TAM or to clarify status of bug CCU-17561.

Workaround: Configure equal parameters of schedule weekly in both places:

  1. PCP > Services > Cloud Infrastructure > Backup Schedules

  2. OACI resource type of class CI backups used for schedule name weekly
