Symptoms
There is a promotion configured for a particular resource. How to apply the promotion on resource upgrade?
In CCP on "Buy Additional Resources" screen there is no text field to enter Promotion code.
Cause
There is no direct possibility to apply Promotion on resource upgrade. Additional resource should be purchased along with Subscription period of some certain Service Plan to be part of the same Sales Order. In this case Promotion specified during plan purchase will be applied to the resource price.
There is a feature request to implement promotion on resource upgrade: PBA-40436
Resolution
There is a workaround to apply promotion to resource price after the plan purchase (in case some promotion has been applied at the plan purchase): it is only necessary to synchronize particular resource`s price:
1) Go to Home > Operation Director > Support Manager > Subscriptions > Subscription # > Resources >
2) Select particular resource
3) Press Synchronize
4) Select "Update Prices"
For the case if the subscription has been purchased without promotion the workaround is different:
1) In the promotion mentioned earlier, set check boxes for whether "Apply to Renewal" or "Apply to Switch Plan"
2) Renew subscription or switch it to some new plan (this plan should be also included into promoted plans)
3) Subscription/resource prices will be changed after processing renewal/change order.
