Symptoms

Attempt to change DNS on Network Group fails with the error below :

P200008: One or more VLAN(s) have subnets from this netgroup

or

Unable to apply the changes made to the network group <NETWORK_GROUP_NAME>. Error: One or more VLANs have subnets in this network group.

Cause

It is not possible to modify a netgroup which already has virtual environments provisioned with it.

Resolution

Functionality to modify a netgroup with already provisioned VEs has been requested as a feature request PFR-2216 (formerly POA-87566). Please contact your TAM or PTA team to trace its status.

The following workaround can be applied:

  1. Remove all the VEs using addresses from the network group
  2. Wait for VLAN changes to be propagated to the hardware nodes (15 mins should be enough)
  3. Make changes to the network group.
