Symptoms
Locale dialects (e.g. locale.en_US) that are described in the documentation do not work. Is there a way to use them?
Cause
The documentation is incorrect. locale.en_US cannot be used as a dictionary volume for dialect, this is a file used for correct handling of OA locales. Moreover, the file is rewritten with each configure.pl run. The documentation bugs #PBA-69146 ("Misleading info about locale.en_US in the doc") and #PBA-48119 ("Locale files for language dialects do not work") exist to correct this information in the guide.
The feature requests #PBA-69197 ("Implement locale dialects in BA"), #PBA-55967 ("Localization unification and refactoring") exist.
