Question

OA core server runs out of disk space. What files can be safely deleted?

Answer

  1. /usr/local/pem/var/updates/

the contents of this folder may be removed. It is used by pa_updates_installer to download and unpack update files. After installation is completed, they are not needed.

  2. /usr/local/pem/var/cores/core.* files

crash dumps of OA agent. They can be removed or moved to another server if technical support is not performing any investigations regarding OA agent crashes.

  3. /var/lib/pgsql/backups/

postgresql backups - old ones can be removed or moved to other storage, not used by the system.

  4. /var/log/

log files of OS and OA. Some old logs can be deleted or moved to other storage to free some space.

  5. /usr/local/pem/db_backup/

old database dumps can be moved to other storage as well.
