OpenSRS is set as Domain Registrar.

When trying to register a new domain or moderate a new account the following error is shown:

Failed to add Domain
Response from registrar server: Invalid password length: Password should contain at least 10 and at most 20 characters.


The FTP users' password is too short or too long. OpenSRS password policy requires domain profile passwords between 10-20 characters in length.

Change password for FTP user in the following way:

If you need to register a new domain:

  1. Log in to Control Panel as user.
  2. Go to FTP/User Account.
  3. Under the 'FTP User' settings click to 'Click to change password'.
  4. Enter a password between 10-20 characters in length.
  5. Click 'Submit'.

If you need to moderate a new account:

  1. Go to Signup > Moderate > <username> > Other signup information for User: <username> (<Plan>) section.
  2. Click Click to change password button.
  3. Set the password between 10-20 characters in length.
