Sometimes PayPal transaction fail with the following error:

Transaction not found on PayPal side, stoping futher checks

A customer thinks that the transaction failed and initiates second payment (lets say, successful this time). The first (failed) transaction, however, gets Approved and Completed statuses later.

When transaction is created and posted to PayPal, OBAS periodically checks its status (every 16 minutes). If a customer does not pay during this period, OBAS marks the transaction as Error with the message 'Transaction not found on PayPal side, stoping futher checks'.

Nevertheless a customer is able to complete the payment, and as a result OBAS gets notification from PayPal with payment approval and the transaction becomes approved.

This behavior was recognized as an internal issue with ID #PBAS-29904 and is fixed since OBAS version 4.5.4.

To resolve the issue, please upgrade to the latest product version as described in the following KB article:

How to upgrade OBAS system to the latest available version.

For OBAS 4.5.3:

A hotfix for both 32 and 64 bit platforms is attached.

Hotfix installation instructions:

# rpm -Uvh hspc-plugin-pp-op-paypal_adaptive-4.5.3-50.swsoft.<architecture>.rpm
# hspc-upgrade-manager --finish

The hotfix enables periodic sending of PaymentDetailsRequest. Additionally, following behavior is introduced:

  • If customer does not do the payment, the task ends after the fourth check.
  • If payment was done - maximum number of checks is 16.
