Unused PHP Handler installed on the Apache service node cannot be removed. The command executed on management node fails with the error:

#/usr/local/psa/bin/php_handler --remove -id "<handler_id>" -service-node
Error occured while sending feedback. HTTP code returned: 502
Unable to remove the PHP handler: The PHP handler is used in sites configurations.

There are PHP handler with the same title (id) installed on another service node. PPA searches the handler ID in database and finds it in use. Then the operation is being interrupted.

This behavior is known as software issue #PPA-2243. The fix is planned to be included in one of the future product updates.

The handler may be removed from the service node it was installed on.

  1. Log in service node by SSH.

  2. Remove PHP handler with the command below:

    # /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/php_handlers_control --remove --id "<handler_id>"
  3. Re-read the handlers list, having executed the following command from the Management node:

    /usr/local/psa/bin/php_handler --reread -service-node
