Task for adding new Microsoft SQL service node fails with:

HResult 0xFFFFFFFF, Level 16, State 1

Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 : A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 : Login timeout expired.

Server with already installed MS SQL Standard server was added as a service node to PPA infrastructure. This type of server can be added as external database server.

While adding service node PPA install MS SQL Express edition by itself.

  1. Remove service node 'MSSQLNODE' in:

Infrastructure -> Service nodes -> select 'MSSQLNODE' and press 'Delete'

  2. Await till according tasks finished

  3. Unistall application PEM from service node (using standard way through Control panel -> Uninstall applications)

  4. Remove 'C:\POA_Deploy' and 'C:\Program Files(x86)\SwSoft' folders from service node

  5. Add service node again(without pre-installed MSSQL* and if you need to have Express Edition) or add server like external database server (with previously installed MS SQL Standard or any other required edition).
