Question

There are domain zones, that are configured to be registered through the Dummy Registrar. Any operation with such domains is reported as successful - the domains are shown as available for the registration, they are successfully registered, renewed, etc. Meanwhile nothing actually happens with the domain - when the sales order for the domain completes, the domain does not appear actually registered, there are situations that are already registered domains are shown as available, sales orders successfully completes for such domains. How can this be explained and changed?

Answer

Dummy registrar is usually used for testing, it does not send any actual requests to any real registrars. If you need the domains to be actually checked for availability and registered, then it is required to:

  1. Find an appropriate registrar that supports this domain zone
  2. a) Make sure it is supported by PBA. The list of plugins: http://download.pa.parallels.com/pba/5.5/doc/60119.htm and here.

If there are any special requirements for this domain zone, then make sure this tld is supported by PBA plugin

    b) install and configure the plugin as described in the appropriate document.

  3. If the registrar is not supported by PBA (there is no appropriate plugin), it is required to develop a third-party domain plugin, install and configure it.
