Reseller is restricted to a particular MySQL database server, however customers of the reseller are able to select any database server for subscription creation.

Service nodes > MySQL node > General:

The above mentioned restriction affects only automatic provisioning. In case when client creates a database by himself, he will have a selection from all database servers according to his subscription resources.

Database server selection is based on the provisioning attributes of the database resource that is assigned to a subscription, or on its activation parameters (which is preferable). In case if the database server was not defined explicitly in the activation parameters (see the below screen), the database service will be provisioned to a server that has the same attribute.

To make sure that only a particular database server is available for selection by customers, please follow these steps:

  1. Create a custom attribute and assign it to a database server you are about to restrict
  2. Create a separate database service resource and specify the attribute from step 1
  3. Remove default database service resource from Service Templates > <reseller_template> > Resources and also tune the database services limits/visibility in the IIS/Apache webspace resource limits.
  4. Delete common MySQL resource from the corresponding service template.
  5. In the General tab of service template settings click Apply Template Limits and Parameters.

Also the same could be achieved by specifying the particular database server in the database resource activation parameters:

NOTE: Please be advised, that when you log in from admin panel with the login as customer feature, every database server is available for selection.
