Email client cannot send emails with enabled POP before SMTP authentication, the following error is displayed in maillog:

    # less /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog
postfix/postmap[7413]: fatal: open database /var/spool/postfix/plesk-pop/poplock.db: No such file or directory

The file /var/spool/postfix/plesk-pop/poplock.db does not exist or was removed by unknown reasons.

  1. Copy poplock.db from Management Node and then create required symlink:

    # scp root@MN_IP:/var/spool/postfix/plesk-pop/poplock.db /var/spool/postfix/plesk-pop/
    # ln -s /var/spool/postfix/plesk-pop/poplock.db /var/spool/postfix/plesk/poplock.db
  2. Correct permissions for poplock.db as below:

    # chmod 460 /var/spool/postfix/plesk-pop/poplock.db
    # chown postfix:popuser /var/spool/postfix/plesk-pop/poplock.db
    # ls -la /var/spool/postfix/plesk-pop/poplock.db
    -r--rw---- 1 postfix popuser 12288 feb 7 03:45 /var/spool/postfix/plesk-pop/poplock.db
  3. Restart Postfix service:

    # /etc/init.d/postfix restart
