What packages should be installed on a node to able to use it as a Storage node (to store VE backups and images) or as a Virtualization node (to create VEs)?

Answer

Depending on the purpose, it is required a different packages to be installed on a node:

  1. Storage node

    • Make sure you register the node with role

      • "PACI PCS Storage Node", PACI_SN_PSBM - for Linux OS
      • "PACI PVCfW Storage Node", PACI_SN_VZWIN - for Windows OS

    • Role is selected on first step when adding a node in POA > Infrastructure > Hardware Nodes > Add new node

    • Install the package paci_sn_psbm on the node (after that the node will appear in POA > Services > Cloud Infrastructure > Storage Nodes)

  2. Virtualization node

    • Make sure you register the node with role

      • "PACI PCS Node", PACI_HN_PSBM - for Linux OS
      • "PACI PVCfW Node", PACI_HN_VZWIN - for Windows OS
    • Install a package paci_hn_psbm on the node (after that the node will appear in POA > Services > Cloud Infrastructure > Virtualization Nodes)
