I cannot create reverse DNS zone, the task "Update reverse zone 1 on the bind nameserver" fails with the error:

Destination host '' (#1), IP '' : Internal error: /usr/sbin/rndc /usr/sbin/rndc reload 11.0.10.IN-ADDR.ARPA. failed with code 1 saying: STDOUT: '' STDERR 'rndc: 'reload' failed: not found

Also you could find the following error in the /var/log/messages file:

named[12479]: loading configuration from '/etc/named.conf'
named[12479]: /etc/named.conf:37: zone '': already exists previous definition: pem_reverse_zones:6
named[12479]: reloading configuration failed: failure

Incorrect DNS server configuration. Most likely reverse zone was added manually to the /etc/named.conf file.

  1. Check /etc/named.conf file and make sure that there are no lines there as below:

    zone "" {
            type master;
            file "";
            allow-transfer {
  2. Delete mentioned strings and then restart failed task.

NOTE: Correct way to create reverse DNS zone: Home > Operations > DNS Manager > Reverse DNS zones > Add new reverse zone
