I am generating a certificate request at

Top > Configuration Director > Miscellaneous Settings > SSL Setup > Certificate Request > Generate New Request

and am getting the following message:

Message : An Error occured while generating CSR Problem ID <problem ID>

The problem ID contains the following error:

[HSPC::SSL::Core::ssl_last_error] /etc/httpd/conf/ssl.csr/server.csr: Permission denied
11338:error:0200100D:system library:fopen:Permission denied:bss_file.c:352:fopen('/etc/httpd/conf/ssl.csr/server.csr','w')

Incorrect file ownership, should be as follows:

# ls -la  /etc/httpd/conf/ssl.csr/server.csr
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 1013 sept. 30 22:14 /etc/httpd/conf/ssl.csr/server.csr

Make sure the file permissions and ownership are correct:

# chown apache:apache /etc/httpd/conf/ssl.csr/server.csr
# chmod 644 /etc/httpd/conf/ssl.csr/server.csr
