Symptoms
Active Directory Synchronization (ADSync) Agent installation fails with the following error message:
No container with DN:
LDAP://servername.domainname.local/WKGUID=<a9d1...d5cd>,DC=domainname.DC=local.
Cause
Customer tries to install ADSync Agent on an unsupported version of Windows server.
The list of currently supported Windows server versions for the AD Synchronization Agent (POA 5.5, CDI 1.3) is provided below:
- Windows Server 2008 x64 (Standard/Enterprise/Datacenter Edition)
- Windows Small Business Server 2008 Standard FE (x64)
- Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition (x64)
- Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition (x64)

Resolution
Use the supported version of Windows server for the AD Synchronization Agent installation.
