Symptoms

An APS application is available under Provider in Parallels Automation system, however resellers cannot use it for provisioning to their customers' subscriptions.

Cause

Application provisioning should be additionally configured for resellers.

Resolution

  1. On POA side: add application resources to resellers' branding template (do not forger to deactivate template to make resources adding/removing possible and activate template after changes were applied).

    • set 0 limit for resource to make application included into resellers subscriptions and available for purchase (if you want resellers to buy application from Provider).

    • set non-zero limit to make application auto-provisioned (if you want to make application for resellers installed automatically and for free).
  2. On PBA side: add resource rate for application resources to branding service plan (if limit in POA is set to 0) or do not add resource rate (if limit is not 0) and leave plan configuration as is.

    • if limit in POA is not zero, e.g. you want to provision application to resellers' subscriptions automatically and for free: synchronize reseller subscription with service plan using Product Director > Plan Manager > select Service Plan > 'Synchronize' button (the 'Install new resource(s)' option should be selected on synchronization screen) and application resource type should be available for service templates under reseller.

    • if limit in POA is set to 0, e.g. you want your resellers to purchase application: create upgrade order for new resources purchase and process it, after that resellers will be able to add resource type with that application to own service templates.
