I get the following errors during a PPA update:

    ERROR: Cannot open control pipe - NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
    ERROR: Unable to open credentials file!
    [DEBUG] EXEC (stderr):
    [DEBUG] EXEC (exit): 1
    [INFO] Checking whether communication between the registered service node and management node is possible through the 8352 and 8354 ports...
    [DEBUG] NameError: global name 'stderr' is not defined

    [WARNING] Unable to perform the check: the port '51619' is closed. To perform the check, please temporary open this port. The port can be closed again after the check is completed.


  1. Run /usr/local/ppa/bin/check_service_node --ip <ip_of_service_node>.

  2. Find symptoms in /usr/local/ppa/log/check_service_node.log.

  3. Make sure that all ports required for communication are opened. You can find the list of required ports here. Additionally, after one of last Micro-Updates, you need to open port 51619.

  4. Rerun PPA update /usr/local/ppa/bin/ppa_update --install-updates.
