MODIFY FILE encountered operating system error 112 (There is not enough space on the disk.) while attempting to expand the physical file 'D:\SQL2008_DATA\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA\PEMSharePointDBForWebVSrv16793.mdf'.

  1. Log into the MS SQL server in question, IP address and/or hostname of the server may be found in the failed task properties in POA Task Manager.
  2. Free some diskspace on the drive where MS SQL databases are located, the drive and path to database may be found in the failed task properties.

There is no free diskspace on the MS SQL server which is used by SharePoint server to create or expand SharePoint database. Also make sure that system users are not running out of disk quotas
