Information

Parallels Automation for Cloud Infrastructure (PACI) supports Parallels Cloud Server 6 (PCS) with Update 1 starting from POA 5.4.10. Parallels Cloud Storage support is planned for the next major version of Parallels Automation.

We recommend upgrading all PACI Hardware Nodes to Parallels Cloud Server 6 immediately in order to avoid any possible issues with template delivery and stability. An additional reason for the upgrade is that the next major version of Parallels Automation will require Parallels Cloud Server 6.

This article explains how to upgrade current PACI Hardware Nodes from Parallels Server Bare Metal 5 (PSBM) to Parallels Cloud Server 6.

Upgrade procedure

  1. Go to POA Provider's CP > Top > Service Director > Cloud Infrastructure Manager > Hardware Nodes and pick a Hardware Node.

  2. Switch to the Cloud tab and click on Mark as not ready to provide.

  3. Switch to the Servers tab and Off-load all servers (migrate to other Nodes).

  4. Upgrade Parallels Server Bare Metal to Parallels Cloud Server according to the Upgrading to PCS Guide.

  5. In the POA Provider's CP on the Summary tab click the Reregister button.

  6. In the POA Provider's CP, mark the Node as being ready to provide.

  7. Repeat steps 1-6 for all PACI Nodes.

  8. Enable ploop on all PCS Nodes and convert current containers to ploop format as per this article:
