Improved Voice Mail Integration

The Voice Mail service requires mailboxes to store voice messages. In the previous PA BroadWorks Integration versions, there is the limitation that the Voice Mail service cannot be activated for a Hosted PBX user if the Hosted PBX user has not a mailbox provisioned in PA. Starting from PA BroadWorks Integration 1.2, this limitation is removed. Now, a hosting provider may use any mail system that meets the following requirements:
  • The system can create or remove mailboxes by requests from PA. The mailboxes are used to store voice messages.
  • The system has the API endpoint, which is accessible from the Provisioning Gateway Host over the SSH or HTTPS protocols.
  • Created mailboxes are accessible from the BroadWorks system over the IMAP protocol.
Note: If the Voice Mail service is used on your installation, before upgrading your installation, deactivate existing Voice Mail services and prepare the appropriate mail system. See PA BroadWorks Integration Provider's Guide >> Preparing Mailbox Provisioning System for Voice Mail to obtain more information about the required mail system.
