Resolution

The article describes how POA handlestrial subscriptions with Office 365 APS resources.

Each Office 365 resource based on resource class Application Service has special parameter Trial Offer ID along with regular Included Offers.

E.g. if Provider configuresregular Microsoft Office 365 Plan E3 resource(offer ID is 1017D7F3-6D7F-4bfa-BDD8-79BC8F104E0C) they may specify trial offer ID for it (4E13298C-9655-496f-AAC7-CF8EDA176F88) in the same resource typein POA like on the screenshot below:

Once trial subscription is being ordered POA provisions Microsoft Office 365subscription using trial offer ID instead of regular one. Resources without trial offer ID are ignored by POA, they arenot provisioned to Microsoft Office 365 Cloudat all.

All users createdin trial POA subscription are assigned corresponding trial subscriptions on Microsoft side.

Users with assigned Office 365 services without trial offer IDs are not provisioned - customer is warned that such user cannot be created.

Once subscription is upgraded to the real one in PBA, all Microsoft subscriptions are upgraded to non-trial ones, and new subscriptions for resources without trial offer IDs are provisioned too.

PBA must be configured for correct provisioning of trial subscriptions on POA side:

  • Log into PBA Provider Control Panel
  • Go to Top > External Systems Director > Parallels Operations Automation > Settings
  • Enable the parameter Notify about subscription trial state changes If the parameter Notify about subscription trial state changes is not enabled in PBA then even if customer orderstrial subscription it will be created as regular subscription in POA and POA will use non-trial offers configured in Office 365 resource types instead of trial ones.
