With the PACI update 1 included in POA 5.3.1, a new feature enabling Internet access from private networks has become available.

Private networks can now provide customer servers access to the Internet. This means all servers of a customer can access both each other and other computers on the Internet.
At the same time, these servers do not have access to the servers of other customers.

This function has been provided by a Parallels Server Bare Metal 5 Private Networks feature:
[paci-psbm:~]# prlsrvctl privnet list
Name              G Netmasks
vlan9      *
vlan2      *

The wildcard in the private netmask definition means that a particular private network is "weak"; access to other IPs, except for IPs in other private networks, is possible.

For more information, refer to POA 5.3 update 1 release notes and the Parallels Server Bare Metal 5 User's guide.
