Information

The Virtual Automation product is represented by two separate modules:

VA Agent - Software that installs directly on the server with virtualization (Virtuozzo, Virtuozzo containers, Virtuozzo hypervisor 4.0 and 5.0) and provides: remote management via XML API, SOAP API, backup/restore and offline management functionality for virtual environments.

VA Management Node - Software that is installed on a separate host without any internal virtualization (it can be a container or a virtual machine on any virtual server, but not necessarily) and provides a centralized point of virtualization server management via a web interface called VA Control Center, which is available over the HTTPS on the port 4648 of the VA Management Node.

VA Management Node (VA MN) manages virtualization servers with VA Agent installed via XML API. In order to be able to manage a server with a VA Agent via VA MN, it is necessary to register the server in the VA Control Center first, whereas the VA Agent by default is installed on the virtualization server, along with virtualization software, such as Virtuozzo hypervisor or Virtuozzo containers.

The following information helps you identify which build and release of Virtual Automation is installed on the server and to determine whether it needs to be updated or not.

VA Agent

Information about releases is divided by the operation system: for Linux-based - Parallels [Cloud] Server and Virtuozzo containers for Linux, for Windows - Virtuozzo containers for Windows and for Mac OS X - Virtuozzo hypervisor for Mac.
