Can't install WEBppliance Pro LH 3.5.15 on a dedicated server

Note : This Applies to Webppliance Pro versions 3.5.16 and 3.5.17 as well

WEBppliance Pro 3.5.15 addresses the quota problem that some customers encountered when trying to install WEBppliance Pro on a system with RedHat's updated 2.4.20 kernel. However an additional problem has been encountered on WEBppliance Pro LH 3.5.15 dedicated servers with the latest quota RPM (quota-3.06-9.7 or higher). The problem is when quotas have not been enabled on partition where domains will be hosted, this will cause WEBppliance Pro LH 3.5.15 will fail to install. What you should do, before installing WEBppliance, do the following:

  • Edit /etc/fstab and change the first like to look something like:
    • LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults,usrquota,grpquota
  • mount -o remount /
  • quotaoff -a
  • quotacheck -augmc
  • quotaon -a

This will generate the quota files on the / partition. Replace the / with the path  you plan on hosting your domains. Then you should be able to successfully install WEBppliance. This issue will be addressed in a future release.
