When registering your existing Microsoft account in the Office 365 application, you must confirm the ownership of this account by creating a verification DNS TXT record in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to do this.

  1. In the Odin Automation control panel, obtain the properties of the DNS record that you must create. These properties are the values of the Record Type, Record Name, and Record Value fields.

  2. In the Odin Automation control panel, click OPEN PORTAL.

  3. On the Microsoft account login screen, specify your administrative login and click Next.

    Note: In this step, you must use the credentials of a user that has the Global administrator role of the account.

  4. On the Microsoft account login screen, specify your administrative password and click Sign in.

    Note: In this step, you must use the credentials of a user that has the Global administrator role of the account.

  5. On the Microsoft account login screen, choose whether to stay signed in or not by clicking Yes or No.

  6. In the Office 365 Portal, click on the Admin icon.

  7. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, in the navigation area, click Show all.

  8. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, in the navigation area, click Setup.

  9. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, in the navigation area, click Domains.

  10. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, in the list of domains, click on your domain.

  11. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, click New custom record.

  12. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, make sure that the first field is set to TXT (Text).

  13. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, in the TXT name field, specify the value that you obtained in step 1 (Record Name).

  14. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, in the TXT value field, specify the value that you obtained in step 1 (Record Value).

  15. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, click Save.

  16. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, click Close. After that, you can sign out of the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

  17. In the Odin Automation control panel, click REFRESH.

    Note: If you click REFRESH but the status is not changed from NOT DONE to DONE, wait for a while and click REFRESH again. You may need to do this several times as DNS changes are propagated with a delay of several minutes.
